'Meet the Professionals' home improvement speed dating at The ...

web-color-blueprintAnyone looking to make home improvements dreams of finding just the right architect, contractor or designer to bring their ideas to life.

But how to make the right match? It's almost as hard as dating. First impressions matter; most people know right away if they want to work with someone or not.

Now get that first impression with as many as 10 prospective professionals in just one evening. The Discovery Museum is offering three Meet the Professionals "speed dating" events:

Meet the Architects ? Wednesday, Sept. 5, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Meet the Contractors ? Wednesday, Sept. 12, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Meet the Interior Designers ? Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Here is how it works: Each participant will have about five minutes to exchange ideas and contact information with each professional before moving on to the next. Then, after the "speed dating" session, there is another hour to continue conversations and discuss potential projects. The cost for each? event is $25 per person or couple, but the first 20 to register for each will receive $25 Rings End gift certificates, covering the fees.

Please note that fees are due at time of reservation and refundable only if an event is canceled. For more information call 203-372-3521 x 130 or go to http://bit.ly/M7mLco. Sponsored by Rings End and Marvin Windows.

The Discovery Museum's mission is "to engage, excite and educate through interactive experiences in the exploration of science, technology and ideas." The museum reaches nearly 55,000 visitors each year through the museum's transformative science programs and outreach activities. "We are working to inspire the next generation of scientists, inventors, engineers and business leaders here at Discovery," explains Executive Director Jeff Bishop.?

The Discovery Museum and Planetarium is at 4450 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, one mile south of Merritt Parkway Exit 47, directly across from the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. Daily admission to the Discovery Museum is $9.50 for adults and $8 for children over 2, seniors and students with IDs.
